Hello World! Thanks for stumbling upon a little project of mine that I have been working off and on for a while. Do you remember a time in grade school where you learned how to make your own websites in HTML? I sure do, and I thought it would be fun to use what I learned to make a site of my own. Funnily enough, I think I was a part of the final generation to be taught HTML, since now-a-days you would make a site from scratch since now it looks "unprofessional." Well I say screw that! I want that 90's slash early 2000's look! Who says I have to make something look professional? The WhoWho am I? Well, my name is Sparky, and it's good to meet you! I describe myself as the stereotypical scrawny nerdy kid who's likes to keep to himself, just in a tall and large anthropomorphic fox body. I have strong interests in technology, from new to vintage; some skill/experience with a few programing languages and operating systems; and I like to play video games or make GMod art in my spare time. If you wanna know more about me, head on over to the About Me page! The WhatWhat's supposed to be on here? Let me tell you:
The WhyThe big reason I wanted to make a site from scratch like this is because it is fun! When the Internet first became widely accessible, hobbyist websites (similar to this one) were created by tech savvy individuals who were enthusiastic about a specific topic, passion, hobby, etc., and wanted to put it out to the world. But the Internet quickly became saturated with an influx of commercialism, as all things that become super popular and mainstream. This resulted in a down tick of hobbyist websites and websites became sterile and corporate. Websites now have to not look primitive as that would hurt your image. They now need fancy Javascript animations, uncluttered look. Oh, everyone's using a smart phone now, it's got to look in portrait! … Bleh! Who cares? What if I want to view my site on older machines for shits and giggles? Can't do that with a modern HTML5, CSS spaghetti mess. And that right there is the 2nd reason why I'm making this site: to have something viewable no matter the machine or web browser you use and a place to house my stuff and ideas all while giving big corporations the middle finger. What's this? My domain host says my site looks poor on phones? Screw you! It looks fine! Thanks for dropping by!If you want to see what I'm working on in terms of this site, take a look at the Change Log to see what I'm adding or updating. The Links page can also point you in the direction of where I'm also posting. This site is dedicated to my late mother.Oct 21 1968 - May 10 2021 She was the light of my life. Funny, smart, and very understanding. She was the one that pushed me towards the adult I am today. She made me feel good about myself and helped me discover my true self; she taught me that I shouldn't listen to others if they try to put me down. Although I believe she was taken from this world too early, her passing sort of felt like a message: a reminder that I can't rely on others forever. Her passing was the first step for me to become independent. I do still miss her, and I cry when I start to think of her and the time I have spent with her. But now that I'm living on my own, I sort of owe it to her. Thank you Mom for taking me through the first chapters of my life. For this next chapter, I'll be on my own, alongside the memories of you. |
